Christianity has been and still in the dominant religion, and was introduced in the 4^th century making Ethiopia the oldest Christian nation on earth. Islam was introduced in the 7^th century. Jewish influence pent rated Ethiopia during the era of the Askum kingdom and left an important mark on the nations religious customs remnant of these converts persists to this day in the ‘falashas’ of the northern Ethiopia whose preservation of a observe the Sabbath day as normal practise.
